1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Syte Corp platform at syte.livespaces.io, our marketing site, and related services (together, the “Service”). It covers two groups: visitors to our public pages, and users who hold an account with an organization that subscribes to Syte.
Where a customer organization uploads operational data to the Service, that organization is the controller of that data and Syte acts as its processor. We handle that data on their instructions and under our agreement with them.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store your plaintext password). We also record the organization you belong to and your role within it.
Information from Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares a limited profile with us: your name, email address, email verification status, profile picture URL, and a stable Google account identifier. We request only the email and profile scopes. We do not request or receive access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google service, and we never receive your Google password.
Operational data
Customer organizations upload and generate data through the Service, including aerial and vehicle survey results, detection search areas, confirmed leak locations and severity grades, repair records and deadlines, survey plans and routes, and associated geospatial and sensor readings. This data is typically about infrastructure and locations rather than individuals, though it may include the names of personnel assigned to a survey or repair.
Usage and device data
We log standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, timestamps, and errors encountered. We use this to keep the Service running, diagnose problems, and detect abuse.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service — principally to keep you signed in and to maintain session security. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to advertisers.
3. How we use information
- To create and authenticate your account and keep your session secure.
- To deliver the Service: mapping detections, grading leaks, tracking compliance deadlines, and planning surveys.
- To send transactional and operational messages, including compliance deadline notifications and account alerts.
- To respond to support and contact requests you send us.
- To monitor reliability, investigate incidents, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your operational data to train general-purpose machine learning models for other customers.
4. Google user data: limited use
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, the Google profile data we receive is used only to create and authenticate your Syte account and to display your name and picture inside the product. It is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service, for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law; it is not used for advertising; and it is not read by humans except with your explicit consent, for security investigations, or where required by law.
5. Who we share with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- Google Cloud Platform — application hosting and infrastructure.
- Email delivery providers — transactional and notification email.
- Weather and geospatial data providers — atmospheric context used in emission modelling.
Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a merger or acquisition — in which case we will notify affected customers.
6. Retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Operational data is retained per your organization’s agreement with us, which commonly reflects the record retention periods required by applicable leak-reporting regulations. When an account is closed we delete or anonymize personal data within 90 days, except where we must retain it to meet a legal obligation.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and logged. Row-level security policies in our database isolate each organization’s data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data with commercially reasonable safeguards and will notify affected customers promptly if a breach occurs.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Users in the EEA/UK have these rights under the GDPR; California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To exercise any of these, email contact@livespaces.io. If your data was uploaded by a customer organization, we will refer your request to that organization and support them in responding.
You can also revoke Syte’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions page.
9. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process data there. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US under appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
10. Children
The Service is an enterprise product and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the product or by email to account holders before they take effect, and the effective date above will be updated.
